Surf club hosts celebrity golf day

About 100 members and supporters recently played in Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club’s (SBLSC) second annual celebrity golf day at the picturesque St Michael’s course, Little Bay.

They teed off to an 8 am and shotgun start in excellent weather, displaying a wide range of skills that ranged from some wonderful shots to the basic hackers.

The day raised a valuable amount of money towards club funds. Much of the proceeds will be directed towards funding the Bondi team’s participation in the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships at Scarborough beach in Perth later this month.

Bondi club member and former rugby league player John “Bomber” Peard entertained the golfers later with a comedy skit at the post-play luncheon.

The Bondi club thanks the corporate sponsors of each hole, other sponsors and contributors to the prizes and auction, as well as Di and David Hoggett, Bob Ottway and Peter Stapleton who orgainsed the day.
