SPAGHETTI WESTERN ORCHESTRA

With their high necked collars, thin ties, black vests and matching coats, the cheeky members of the Spaghetti Western Orchestra look like they’ve just stepped out of a Clint Eastwood movie. The Australian musical quintet take legendary cowboy composer Ennio Morricone’s works and give them a twist by using a variety of instruments such as coat hangers, gloves and packets of cornflakes. Accompanied by Foley sound effects and suitably grotesque facial expressions, the orchestra recreate the sounds of gunfire, jangling spurs, and punch-ups. A hit at the Edinburgh festival and widely acclaimed overseas, they are now bringing their unique and witty interpretation of classics such as a Once Upon a Time in the West and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly to Sydney.
