Seymour Centre‘s contemporary music programme, Seymour Nights, is back for another season with live performances from some of the most vibrant voices and artists in Australian music and beyond.

Artists and new sounds will be heard in Sydney’s Seymour Courtyard, located at the corner of City Road and Cleveland Street in Chippendale, Sydney, where guests can enjoy a vast repertoire of fresh music, shows, and other exciting festivities.

Seymour Nights surprises with Sydney’s Alex The Astronaut and many more

Seymour Nights continues from this Saturday, November 16, with a surprise performance from Sydney’s beloved queer indie-pop singer-songwriter, Alex The Astronaut.

Alex will be joined by Sydney’s own Kiri who will be performing two intimate solo sets. Kiri’s eclectic influences are heard in a mash-up of traditional jazz harmony with experimental production, trombones and alluring vocals, tied together in her emotive folkish and electronic ballads.

A night of variety with artists across genres and special show of the critically acclaimed The Inheritance

This special Seymour Nights series coincides with the presentation of the Tony and Olivier award-winning two-part play The Inheritance. The performances will take place between each part of the witty and sexy play, on select weekend dates in November and December.

The announcement follows the programme’s officially kick off this past weekend, with rapper Jamaica Moana, angsty Huck Hastings and alt-bluegrass The Morrisons gracing the courtyard stage.

Rounding out the musical programme, there will be three more stacked evenings of music to end the November/December season.

On Sunday, November 24th, the incomparable Lily Guerrero will be joined by her band for a bout of rhythmic Latin music.

‘Fusion of Balkan brass with dubstep, rock and jazz’, Midnight Tea Party will take to the stage on Saturday, November 30 for captivating sets of their own.

The 2024 series comes to a close on December 7 with two exciting solo acts, topping off the night with a collab, from opposite ends of the world: Alana Wilkinson (Melbourne) and Tennyson King (Canada/Hong Kong).

Alana hits the stage after her tour and debut album release ‘Half Time Oranges’, while Tennyson King makes a return with his signature “rock and roll infused with earthy roots and blues subtly laced in psychedelic ear candy.”

The musical event is completely free, and open to all ages (even dogs are welcome!). Food and drink will be available for purchase in the courtyard, courtesy of the mouthwatering Iron Ramen food truck.

If you’re unable to get down to the Seymour Centre in the next couple of months, stick around for their early 2025 season. Details will be announced soon.

Tickets for The Inheritance are still available for purchase.
