Saintly Moore bonds with fans

Sir Roger Moore, 81, star of the 1960s series The Saint and more James Bond films than anyone else, was in Sydney late last year with Lady Kristina to promote his autobiography My word is my bond.

He signed 1,200 of the books at the Harbour Ballroom at Star City.

The book reads as a lightweight anecdotal name-dropper with Moore coming across as an affable, obliging clotheshorse with not a hint of scandal in his life.

He has devoted his later years to helping orphaned children as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.

Sir Roger is pictured here with fan Halina Wywsik who fronts Sydney band Mambo Italiano.
