Riley Nottingham to make comedy debut at the Sydney Fringe
By ELLIOT HEATH
Australian actor, Riley Nottingham, will venture into the comedy scene for the first-time, making his full comedy debut at the Sydney Fringe Festival Cabaret Club at Castlereagh Boutique Hotel.
Nottingham, most notably known for his acting prowess having played Tom in four seasons of Toybox (Seven Network), and currently playing Dr Langdon Marsh in Metro Sexual (Nine Network), will be keen to show off his comedic ability.
Nottingham has said his show will be in the form of a musical manifesto and hopes watching the show will help people in the audience worry less.
The show will be a musical Manifesto of unlikely friendships, dopamine addiction, working too hard and true love. Nottingham hopes to leave audiences feeling a little bit happy and a little bit sad at the same time.
On the musical side, Nottingham’s resume includes being a member of the bands, Unlikely Superheroes and Little Buffalo (whose final gig was as support act for Regurgitator) and his first album is due for release later this year. He will be drawing on his musical ability to elevate his self-described musical manifesto piece.
Strangely, Nottingham says the inspiration for the piece he will perform next month came in the form of a nightmare.
The Sydney Fringe Festival set to be held at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, will feature 3 shows each night between the 30th of August, and the 24th of September. Nottingham’s show will be performed each night for 5 nights straight, starting on the 13th of September.
The festival will feature many other talented creators including Irene Nicola, Philip De Villiers, Helen Hopcroft, Hannah Barn, Steven Kramer, and Andy Freeborn.
Tickets can be bought on the official Sydney Fringe Festival website.
