Rats in Haymarket

The City of Sydney denies a report published in The City News on 29 April 2010 which said it is ignoring a rat infestation in Haymarket.

A City spokesperson said: “Rats have existed in Sydney for a long time and will likely be here for a while longer, but there is no rat infestation in the City of Sydney. Wherever there is a source of water and a source of food rats will exist. The City maintains a public baiting program and works closely with business owners, providing advice to help them manage vermin on their properties.”
