Qantas flight from Auckland to Sydney issues mayday due to engine troubles

A Qantas flight from Auckland to Sydney that issued a mayday call mid-flight due to engine troubles has landed safely at Sydney airport. Emergency services were called to Sydney airport, and were waiting on the tarmac for QF144 to land, although the flight was expected to land safely.

“NSW Ambulance paramedics are responding to a mayday alert issued by flight QF144 from Auckland,” NSW Ambulance has said. Aircrew reportedly informed emergency services of the engine troubles after the mayday call was issued.
