Pre-school photographers impress at UTS

Four and five-year-olds from the UTS Magic Pudding Childcare Centre are launching their very own exhibition of portrait photography at the University of Technology, Sydney.

The children were given donated digital cameras to take photos of each other over the course of a few weeks.

Each photo is accompanied by a short comment from the child who chose it as their favourite.

Project organiser Kylie Thompson said she was amazed at how quickly the children became confident and capable using digital cameras and how clever they were in composing their photos.

“The portraits that the children have made are charming as well as remarkably well-composed,” Ms Thompson said. “I think visitors who come to the exhibition will be very surprised.”

The SNAP exhibition will be on at the UTS Gallery on Harris Street and will run through January, Monday to Friday, from noon to 5pm.
