A 14-year-old boy was one of 11 people arrested last Saturday night after police from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad targeted drug possession and supply in Sydney clubs.
Officers saturated a number of nightclubs in Kings Cross, Darlinghurst and the Sydney CBD, assisted by Surry Hills police.
The Guildford teenager was charged with supply and possession offences after police located ecstasy tablets.
Commander of the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad, Detective Superintendent Ken McKay said this was the fifth operation of its type in the past three months utilising the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad and the Region Enforcement Squads attached to Redfern and Surry Hills.
Over 60 people have charged with more than 70 offences relating to drug supply and possession over the course of the operation.
He said more operations can be expected in the future.

 

Police are appealing for help to find a man after a shooting at Botany last Friday night.
Botany Bay police were called to a house in Ramsgate Street after reports of a domestic disturbance.
Two Waterloo men, aged 28 and 29, allegedly threatened a woman with a firearm at the house before the 28-year-old fired a number of shots.
The 28-year-old man fled the scene in a 1997 black-coloured Mitsubishi people mover with registration AT-65-QS. The vehicle was recovered the following day in Meehan Street.
Witnesses have told police the 28-year-old man allegedly fired a number of other shots at houses as he left the street. One of these shots struck a 28-year-old woman neighbour. She was taken by ambulance to Prince of Wales Hospital and is in a stable condition.
A 29-year-old man has been released pending further inquiries.
Police would like to speak with 28-year-old, Jason Neil Melbon, also known as Melbom. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should phone 000 or Botany Bay Detectives on 8338 7399. Police have warned the public not to approach Melbon.

 

Police have seized naked photographs of children as part of an investigation into a Paddington art exhibition last Thursday.
Rose Bay police are investigating complaints, with assistance from detectives with the State Crime Command’s Child Protection and Sex Crimes Squad into the Roslyn9 Gallery exhibition.
Officers executed a search warrant at the premises after a tip-off, and have since seized more than 20 photographs from the 41 piece series by well-known artist Bill Henson.
Police are investigating the possible prosecution of offences regarding the act of publish indecent article under the Crimes Act.

 

An 18-year-old Redfern man has been charged with murder of a 23-year-old man last Thursday.
Shortly after midnight, a police allege a group of people became involved in a fight outside a party on Vine Street Redfern when the stabbing occurred.
The victim, from Kempsey on the north coast, received a stab wound to his chest, and was taken by ambulance to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Several crime scenes were established by police, with numerous items seized for forensic examination.
The Redfern teen is now before the courts.
