Rushcutters Bay cab crash

Police are investigating a crash between a car and a taxi at Rushcutters Bay on Sunday April 6 which left three people hospitalised.
The crash happened about 4.30am on Bayswater Road when a Nissan Pulsar hatchback struck a stationary taxi.
The driver of the taxi, a 41-year-old man from Wiley Park, escaped injury; however, a 26-year-old Hillsdale woman was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with bruising.
The driver of the Pulsar, a 23-year-old man from Liverpool, escaped with cuts to his arm and bruising.

Man takes a dip in GG’s pool

A 45-year-old man has been charged by police after leaping from a ferry, swimming nearly 600 metres and then breaking into the governor-general’s waterfront residence.
An eyewitness said the man jumped off the ferry in Sydney harbour at about 2.50pm and swam towards Admiralty House, dodging four police boats before making it to shore.
Water police were alerted to the man swimming between the Opera House and Kirribilli Wharf.
Once the Queensland man entered the grounds, he dived into a pool before complying with police directives to get out. He was taken into custody and charged with entering enclosed lands.


Help sought over collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision at Pyrmont last year where a pedestrian suffered a serious leg injury.
About 8pm on Friday December 14 a 22-year-old Russell Lea man was hit by a white Toyota Camry at the intersection of Bank Street and Pyrmont Bridge Road.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Constable Seebacher at City Central Police on 9265 6499.

Bank fraud arrest

A man will appear in court later this month charged over an alleged $2 million fraud.
The long-time employee of a city bank allegedly has transferred funds into a false account for 11 years.
Following inquiries, the 36-year-old South Hurstville man was charged with obtaining money by deception and conditionally bailed to appear in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Monday April 21.

Serious assault targeted

Police have launched a strike force, which continues to investigate a serious assault in central Sydney which left a man unconscious in hospital earlier this year.
The 54-year-old man, Brian Gilsenan was bashed outside an apartment block on Bathurst Street, Sydney, at 12.10am on Friday February 8. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Glebe pub robbery

Police are appealing for help following two armed pub robberies at Glebe and Petersham on Wednesday April 2.
The first incident occurred about 11.50pm, in which three men, two armed with a firearm and all with their faces covered, entered the Petersham pub on Parramatta Road.
The second incident occurred about midnight in which three men, one armed with a firearm and all with their faces covered, entered a Glebe Point Road pub.
The men threatened a male employee, demanding money before stealing a sum of cash and fleeing the scene in a black Subaru Liberty sedan, which is believed to have been driven by a fourth person.
Detectives are seeking three men, described as being of medium build, and about 178cm tall. The first man was last seen wearing white joggers, and black baggy pants.
Detectives are investigating the possibility the two incidents may be linked. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
