CHILD Protection and Sex Crimes Squad detectives are investigating the indecent assault of a boy at Moore Park.

An eight-year-old boy and his friend, aged nine, were watching a movie at a Moore Park cinema complex on Sunday June 15, when they left to use the toilet between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

The boy has told detectives the pair was approached at the urinal by a man. The eight-year-old boy was indecently assaulted.

The incident was reported to Surry Hills Police Station the following day.

The man has been described to police as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, aged in his early 30s, with a bald head and a tattoo or emblem in the area of his arm’s upper sleeve.

At the time of the incident the man was wearing jeans and a dark-coloured top, as well as a crucifix necklace.

Detectives are appealing for help from movie-goers who might have witnessed the incident, or who were at the cinema complex at the time. Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A SURRY Hills man has been arrested following the seizure of discs containing images of young girls.

Detectives executed a search warrant on a business in Fitzroy Street, Surry Hills, on June 25 as part of inquiries by Strike Force Otaki.

A 64-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was questioned and subsequently charged with possession of child pornography.

The Surry Hills man was conditionally bailed to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 16 July.

During the execution of the search warrant detectives will allege they seized a disc containing approximately 2000 images of girls aged under 16 years.

Detectives also seized computer equipment and other items, which will be the subject of forensic examination.

POLICE have seized thousands of pornographic movies and more than three litres of a substance believed to be amyl nitrate during a raid on an inner Sydney adult book shop.

Officers from the Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad executed a search warrant upon the Oxford Street store in Darlinghurst on June 25.

It followed information received by police about the alleged supply of unclassified pornographic material and illicit drugs from the premises.

Officers spent much of the day cataloguing and seizing items from the store, including 165 vials of what is believed to be amyl nitrate, a prescribed restricted substance under the Poisons Act.

There were 4903 DVDs and 68 videos seized which were X-rated or unclassified. Charges are expected to be laid.

A MAN and woman have been charged and are before the courts following drugs seized by police during an operation at Kings Cross.

Between June 4 and June 23, police from Kings Cross conducted a controlled undercover drug operation in the area.

Following investigations, police executed a search warrant at a home on Darlinghurst Road, allegedly locating and seizing an amount of cannabis, ICE, and cocaine.

A 54-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Kings Cross Police Station for questioning.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, knowingly take part in the supply of a prohibited drug, and three counts of possess prohibited drug.

A woman was charged with supply prohibited drug.
