Police make inquiries following stabbing of Sydney man in CBD

Police are continuing to make enquiries after a security guard was allegedly stabbed in the neck outside a nightclub on Pitt Street on Sunday.

An argument erupted after a man allegedly refused to leave the nightclub when asked to do so by the security guard.

It is alleged that several others then became involved in the argument and a scuffle broke out.

During the scuffle, the guard suffered a stab wound to his neck.

Police arrested two men in relation to the incident; however they were later released pending further investigation.

Man charged following stun gun rampage

A man has been charged with a range of offences after a spate of alleged armed robberies involving a stun-gun device.

About 6pm on Friday police attended a money exchange on George Street, Sydney, near the intersection of Hunter Street, where they allegedly sighted a man threatening a female staff member with a stun gun device.

The 20-year-old Point Piper man was arrested at the scene, and allegedly assaulted the arresting officers. A second man escaped the scene.

The man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with armed robbery in relation to the incident.

He was also charged over a spate of alleged armed robberies which occurred Thursday evening.

These robberies also allegedly involved a stun gun, and included a store on Parramatta Road, Glebe, a licensed premises on Quay Street, Haymarket, a convenience store on Pitt Street, The Rocks, and a convenience store on Oxford Street, Paddington.

Inquiries are continuing into other incidents and further charges are possible. Police are also conducting inquiries to locate the other man, and anyone who can assist the investigation should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Men wanted for questioning after Surry Hills robbery

Police have released CCTV images of two men wanted for questioning after a robbery at a Surry Hills mixed business last month.

About 7.05pm on December 28 two men entered the Elizabeth Street store near the intersection of Belvoir Street.

The two men robbed the store, collecting a quantity of cigarettes, phone cards and cash and assaulting a staff member.

The men then left the store and were last seen heading towards Central Station. Police would like to speak with two people depicted in CCTV images who are believed might be able to assist with inquiries into the robbery.
