PEEL – AMY ROSE

PEEL – AMY ROSE

Amy Rose’s Peel is about rediscovering the childlike vulnerability that we’re born with. Despite heartbreaks and less than ideal relationships, the six-track EP of the Bondi based singer-songwriter is about learning to unravel and open up again.

Citing her influences as Feist, Imogen Heap and Postal Service, the EP boasts gorgeous, dreamy electronic soundscapes complemented by Rose’s romantic vocals. One of the immediate standouts is the wistful Beside the Sea. Accompanied by lulling chord progressions and Rose’s simple yet romantic refrains, it is a haunting, sincere love song. Though Peel contains some glowing moments, it still lacks a certain quality or spark that will allow it to stand out among the abundance of dreamy electronic pop today. ***
