Palestine Conference: TEMPERATURES RISING

Professor Ibrahim Aoude, Chair of Ethnic Studies at the University of Hawaii and the key human rights advocate Ms Ghada Abu Ghalyoun from the International Office of the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions are the principal guest speakers at a conference on Australian civil society & Palestinian freedom to be held at the University of Technology, Sydney. This important conference, titled “Temperatures Rising!” is hosted by the Cosmopolitan Civil Societies Research Centre at UTS and the Coalition for Justice & Peace in Palestine (Sydney).

Ms Abu Ghalyoun will be able to give unionists and Australians in general first-hand explanations of the situations of workers and women in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, whose economy has been largely destroyed. Professor Aude gives a contemporary analysis of the Middle East political conjuncture,

Prominent Australian speakers include Professor Stuart Rees, Director of the Sydney Peace Foundation and Prof Ghassan Hage from the University of Melbourne.
