ONCE UPON A TIME IN ANATOLIA

This international drama follows a late night search for the body of a murder victim throughout the spectacular Anatolian landscape. Monotonous yet humorous car conversations, long eerie pauses and magnificent filming create this stimulating masterpiece. Tension builds throughout the search, as though the mystery could reveal itself at any moment. However, again and again we are faced with nothing.  There are moments of drama and compassion but it is paradoxically the times where nothing is happening when the film really comes to life. As we wait expectantly to be shocked by the discovery of a dead body we learn more and more about the characters and are pulled even deeper into the crime. ****
