Sydney Woman Nirmeen Noufl Accused Killed and Dismembered Husband Over Love Triangle
Sydney woman Nirmeen Noufl has been accused of murdering and dismembering her husband’s body after discovering he cheated on her while overseas.
Warning: This story contains details of a violent crime and allegations of domestic violence that may be distressing to some readers. Discretion is advised.
53-year-old Noufl is alleged to have killed, dismembering and disposing of her husband’s remains in various residential and industrial sites across Sydney’s south-west.
An investigation into Mamdouh “Emad” Noufl’s disappearance began in July 2023 when family friends reported him missing.
Authorities from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to his residence on Juno Parade in Greenacre, located in Sydney’s west, following reports that a 62-year-old man had not been seen since May.
Police deemed his disappearance suspicious, and detectives attached to State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad established Strike Force Tannerie to investigate the incident.
Last Thursday afternoon, strike force detectives arrested Noufl at a hospital in Bankstown nearly 18 months after Mamdouh was declared missing.
Mamdouh was allegedly involved in an affair with a woman in Egypt, to whom he had been sending money.
Investigators believe the situation may have escalated after Nirmeen became aware of the affair.
The incident has been classified as a domestic violence murder, with Homicide Squad Chief Danny Doherty describing the crime as “bizarre.”
“The murder is brutal, but it’s also macabre and bizarre. The way, the manner, the nature and the disposal of the body,” Chief Doherty said
Who is Nirmeen Noufl?
Nirmeen Noufl previously worked in disability services and owned a business focused on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) as well as child-minding. In November 2022, she was appointed director of We Care Disability and Aged PTY LTD, a family-owned business based in Belmore.
Then, in July 2023, weeks after her husband was reported missing, Nirmeen Noufl stepped down from her role managing the business and transferred the directorship to another relative, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Police have also alleged the motive for the killing may have been partly financial.
Chief Doherty said Noufl had received housing and government assistance for the past 20 years, and had “a lot of unexplained wealth”.
Noufl has previously travelled to Egypt, where she sold properties and was in the process of purchasing shares in the United Arab Emirates.
Nirmeen Noufl’s Alleged Social Media Ruse
Police will allege Ms Noufl “had taken over” Mr Noufl’s phone and social media accounts “purporting that he would still be alive”.
“That probably delayed some of the investigations and was probably a ruse to disguise the fact that he actually indeed had been killed,” Chief Doherty said.
“We will allege that she is a person who manipulates people and manipulates the truth,” he said.
Doherty also stated that police had found evidence over the course of their investigation, revealing that Noufl’s husband was intentionally killed, however he would not disclose what the evidence was.
“We will deduce in court that she was solely responsible for the murder,” Doherty said. “We’re saying that the murder happened on the night of the 3rd of May into the early hours of the 4th of May.
Although no remains have been recovered, police have indicated they do not expect any to be found in the future due to the alleged manner of disposal. The couple had eight children together.
Nirmeen Noufl has been declared a flight risk due to her interest in relocating to the Middle East and has been refused bail. She is set to appear before Burwood Local Court in December, following her appearance at Bankstown Local Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
