Over 100 festival goes charged with drug offences

Sydney police have arrested and charged over 100 people with drugs offences at Field Day.

Officers of the Redfern Region Enforcement Squad and Dog Unit launched a crackdown on drug possession and supply at the festival attended by more than 19,000 people at The Domain on Sunday.

Police seized quantities of MDMA (ecstasy), amphetamine, cocaine, LSD and cannabis.

Chief Inspector, Stuart Bell, said “Despite the warnings of the dangers posed by drugs, there are some who remain intent on bringing illegal substances to this type of event.”
