A MAN has been arrested and charged over a sexual assault at Surry Hills earlier this year.
A 32-year-old ACT woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in a toilet cubicle of an Oxford Street restaurant at about 10.45pm on April 15.
Police made inquiries into the incident and examined CCTV footage. Two detectives were patrolling Commonwealth Street when they attempted to speak to a man in relation to the alleged assault.
The man ran from police and, during the pursuit, one of the officers fell and broke his ankle.
The other officer arrested the man, who was taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
The 26-year-old Iranian national was refused bail.

FOUR men have been arrested and charged in relation to the alleged mid-level supply of heroin and cocaine in the Glebe area.
Police executed search warrants on properties at Ultimo, Condell Park and Glebe on August 14 where they located a quantity of white powder believed to be heroin, various drug paraphernalia and a substantial amount of cash.
A 34-year-old Glebe man, a 35-year-old Condell Park man, a 27-year-old Marrickville man and a 35-year-old Harbord man have each been charged with drug supply offences, with the Glebe and Condell Park men also charged with money laundering.

 

A MAN will face court this month after an alleged road rage incident involving a bus and a van at The Rocks.
The bus driver allegedly stopped his vehicle north of Argyle Street on August 4 and exited the bus to check for damage after hearing a loud noise.
Police allege that one of the men entered the bus and made threats towards the driver, before smashing the vehicle’s glass doors and windows with a pole.
The bus driver was issued with a court attendance notice for reckless driving.
