Bikie busted

An associate of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) is set to appear in Court later this month after he refused to leave a Kings Cross hotel.

The Queensland man, 49, was arrested on Saturday after allegedly refusing orders to leave a hotel on Darlinghurst road.

Police claim the man, who was wearing full OMCG colours, became argumentative once commanded to leave the premises.

The man was arrested after Police escorted him outside the hotel where he refused to leave the vicinity of the premises.

Police were called to the scene at around 5 pm.

It is the hotel’s policy that no person wearing OMCG colours are allowed entry.

The man will appear in Downing centre Local Court on 
November 25.

Sydney’s Christmas

The City of Sydney released its Christmas plans on Monday, which include 28 Christmas trees, thousands of fairy lights, light projections on the Town Hall and 1000 new banners.

The Martin Place Christmas concert will return MCed by Rhys Muldoon and feature Guy Sebastian, the Smurf Christmas Show, Jay Laga’aia, Lah-Lah’s BIG Live Band, and the Australian Girls Choir.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP said the City’s Christmas celebrations are about celebrating one of the most special times of the year.

“Our celebrations this year will be bigger and better than ever. So I encourage all Sydney residents, workers and visitors to get involved in the celebrations taking place around the City this festive season,” Ms Moore said.

Ms Moore will be celebrating right next to Santa himself as they arrive side by side in his mercurial sleigh.

The main concert will be in Hyde Park and four separate ‘village’ concerts will be staged in local parks on November 24.

 

Council campaigns for marriage equality

City of Sydney is calling for the Australian Parliament to amend the Marriage act to ensure the inclusion of same sex marriage.

The Council has proposed to promote the marriage equality rally on Saturday December 3 by flying the rainbow flag and rainbow banners on Town Hall for the weekend of the rally.

The rally coincides with the Australian Labor Party national conference, which is expected to include a vote on the party’s position on marriage equality.
