New Chairman in Kings Cross

The Kings Cross Partnership elected a new chairman during last week’s annual general meeting.
Adrian Bartels, 31, is a mortgage planner who lives and works in Kings Cross. He ran alongside Sydney Liberal, Shayne Mallard, in this year’s local government election but was unsuccessful in his bid.
“In the coming months the Kings Cross Partnership will be engaging with all the stakeholders in this area ‘ residents, businesses, police and Council ‘ to build a consensus on how we can make this a better area in which to live, work and play,” Mr Bartels said.
The Partnership is a coalition of businesses in the King Cross area.
“It’s the mix of entertainment and residential components that contribute to this being such a great place to live,” he said. “Finding a workable balance between the two elements so that Kings Cross thrives, while impacts on residents are well managed and minimised, is the key to progress here.”
Outgoing chairman Malcolm Gunning remains on the board.
