MULLUM MUSIC FESTIVAL

MULLUM MUSIC FESTIVAL

Amongst a sea of summer festivals, The Mullum Music Festival is a breath of fresh air. Tucked away behind the hills of Byron Bay, the 2012 boasts a bunch of incredible international acts as well as local favourites such as The Abyssinians (Jamaica), Husky, Gossling, King Tide and Tim Freedman (formerly of The Whitlams).

Having just toured with Fireside Chat, Tim Freedman will be delighting festivalgoers with two shows at the Courthouse Hotel.

“The first time the Whitlams played this pub was in ’94, so I’ve got a bit of a history in the room.”

“I’m going to play songs from all seven albums.”

With such an eclectic mix of artists on the line-up this year, Freedman says he is looking forward to checking out the other acts.

“Glenn Wrights who runs Vitamin Records has good taste in roots and folk, but it’s not too traditional.”

The alternative festival caters to a wide range of music fans; whether indie-pop, rock, reggae and more, Mullum Music Festival finds the perfect balance with a diverse mixture of local, national and international performers.

“I’ll be making a weekend of it,” says Freedman.
