MISS BURLESQUE NSW

MISS BURLESQUE NSW

Miss Burlesque Australia 2012 is on again this year. The New South Wales leg of the competition will be held this Friday 9 March when the Miss Burlesque Australia 2012 NSW State Finals occur at the Factory Theatre. Expect a night of colourful, lustful glamour.

The skill, presentation and personality of each of the nine finalists will be on show as they flex and shimmy through three styles: classic burlesque, neo-burlesque and gown parade.

Briana Bluebell is back again after walking away with the NSW crown in 2010, and coming runner-up in the national competition that same year. She has been described by Imogen Kelly, a luminary of the Australian burlesque scene, as, “one of the shining lights of the latest wave of burlesque performers in Sydney”.

Olive Da’Vine will employ her strong artistic sensibilities, undoubtedly shaped by her passion for visual arts, as she indulges on stage.

The contestants habitually have rich performance backgrounds. Miss Bunni Lambada previously pursued ballet, currently enjoys detours into the world of circus and vaudeville, and is Miss Pin Up Australia 2011.

Other contestants include Lara Love, Arianna Starr, Tiffany Blue, Tootsie Caloola and Cherry Lush, as well as the diamonds and sequins of Queen Xylene Nocturne.

The NSW State winner will walk away with $1000 prize money and the opportunity to compete in the National Grand Final, to be held at Enmore Theatre in April.

Mar 9, 8pm, Factory Theatre, 105 Victoria Rd, Marrickville, $45+BF, 9550 3666, factorytheatre.com.au
