ME AND MY SHADOW

ME AND MY SHADOW

These school holidays Patch Theatre Company and the Seymour Centre are giving audiences the chance to experience the magical Helpmann Award-winning adventure that has toured all over Australia. The play premiered in 2010 and follows the story of a young girl (played by Sarah Brokensha) who is trying to make friends with her shadow. “We’ve found that children connect really well with image-based storytelling,” Brokensha says. “We haven’t used a lot of dialogue because we believe that the simplicity of light, music and physical movement connects with the children in a much more visceral way.” Aimed at kids aged between four and eight, Me and My Shadow uses paper, light, shadow, colour, water and music to ignite the imaginations of both the young and young at heart.
