MARLEY AND ME
Based on the autobiography of a New York Times journalist, Marley and Me follows the transition of a young couple into married life and parenthood. John and Jenny Grogan are introduced to us as newly-weds who decide to adopt the ‘best and worst dog in the world’, Marley, and become a young family with their faithful dog by their side. As always, Owen Wilson (John Grogan) injects this movie with hilarious moments, but this character also gives him to opportunity to show a more down-to-earth side. Jennifer Aniston, as Jenny, lends a subtle warmth and credibility to Wilson’s performance. This film is an intimate and modest tribute to families, and parents will no doubt cringe, smile and remember. (Trish Roberts)
