MANY RIVERS

As an immigrant to this fantastic country, there’s no greater wonder than seeing reflections of its colourful history. Walk into the Many Rivers art exhibition and you will stumble upon reflections so detailed and vivid, you may just feel like you have been transported to the Dreamtime itself.

Located on Flood Street on the traditional land of the Eora people; known today as the Sydney suburb of Leichhardt; the exhibition was opened on Friday night in the presence of a 50-strong crowd. People from all walks of life strolled around the hall, taking in the beautifully hand-crafted wooden pieces and leaving no dot of colour un-admired. The Governor Professor Marie Bashir was present to officially open the exhibition, bestowing a flow of praise on the Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Cooperative. “I think the more time you spend looking at the piece, the more you feel inspired.” Every piece shows not only every effort by each of these South Coast artists, but an individual insight into a past that so many of us today would not be personally familiar with.
