Local Band Jet City Sports Club Shout Out Redfern In Unreleased Track
Sydney/Eora-based indie-pop band, Jet City Sports Club, pay homage to the inner suburb of Redfern with unreleased track Redfern Station for their debut session at “Live at Enmore”.
The up-and-coming band is coming into their groove, as they achieve milestones of announcing their first headlining tour and being signed to ‘select music’, emerging as a sought-after Australian band.
The inner suburb station was serenaded by the trio with their unreleased track, Redfern Station.
Pausing for a moment in time, the beauty of Redfern Station when the sun is just setting, is sung, “it’s like I’m walking through a dream.”
The frontwoman, Lilly Obradovic, lets the audience know how the song was inspired.
“Jack and I wrote the song in July 2020… We were at Redfern, the sun was setting and he looked out and said, ‘I’ve always liked the way the sun sets over Redfern Station’, then we went home and wrote a song about it,” frontwoman, Lilly Obradovic told Happy Mag.
The song is wrapped up in soft vocal melodies and memorable guitar riffs, weaving between stages of your body moving to the beat, then being pulled into an emotional gratitude for Redfern Station.
Through the beautiful re-accountment of Redfern Station and the musical talent of the Sydney-based band, it won’t be a surprise if the release of this song is anticipated, especially by Sydneysiders.
Live music is back, and Jet City Sports Club is right behind it
The Aussie band has toured the country right next to some of Australia’s live music gold, like DICE, Old Merv’s, Ruby Fields, and The Temper Trap. Safe to say, they have been on the road and will continue to be with the new tour announcement.
Among killer headlining shows, the band has performed at some of Australia’s most popular festivals like Rolling Sets, Lost Paradise, and Party in the Paddock.
The release of their single ‘In Morphine’, continues the band’s aesthetic and reputation of indie rock.
