The Zebs: Party times are ahead with local dance-oriented indie-pop group The Zebs. Their amalgamation of sprightly lead guitar hooks, bounding drums and vocal hollers make for some sweaty dance floor times. They wont be doing it alone though as they’re joined on the night by the equally energetic Skyways are Highways (Melb), The Cadres and Train Robbers.

Thur, Jan 31st, FBi Social

Gervais Koffi’s African Diaspora: Born in the Ivory Coast and now settled in Sydney, Gervais has absorbed the sounds of Africa and the Caribbean and assembled a talented ten piece band to translate his upbeat conscious music to grateful audiences. Joined by Jamino and Group Lafaya from Mauritius and young teenager Yannick Koffi, this will be an unbridled night of dancefloor fun.

Fri, Feb 1st, The Basement

Brothers Grim & The Blue Murders: A rollicking good time is guaranteed with this sordid swamp blues collective. With their brash slide guitars, whiskey worn vocals and uncompromising rhythm section Brothers Grim are not just your average blues band. You can imagine the rough and tumble sounds of the group pouring out of a raucous juke joint, separated from outlaws as they play behind the protection of chicken wire.

Sat, Feb 2nd, The Vanguard

The Australian Clowns: This Aussie supergroup is comprised of Kevin Borich, Vince Contarino, Joe James, Damien Steele Scott, Richard Semmens and Bradley Polainand. Between the lot of them they’ve played for the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Santana, The Commitments, Bily Thorpe and so many more; and these scintillating session musos are coming together to throw one of the most memorable rock ‘n’ roll shows that Sydney has seen for a long time. It’s gonna be epic.

Sun, Feb 3rd, Annandale Hotel

Miss Little: Local singer/songwriter Sarah McCallum a.k.a. Miss Little has been doing the rounds around Sydney for a while performing with a host of musicians and endearing audiences with her 2011 debut When Things Fall Apart & Into Place. McCallum is about to re-enter the studio to record her follow up and she’ll be previewing some of that material while demonstrating the substance and charm that has seen music critics fawn over her.

Mon, Feb 4th, 505

Poliça: This Minneapolis indie quartet will be passing through to promote their debut album Give You The Ghost which has been receiving praise from all outlets. Frontwoman Channy Leanagh’s haunting vocals float angelically over the group’s emotive sounds, which are beautifully constructed with electronic sounds, live instrumentation and effects. Their sound is simply all encompassing and this will be an enthralling show from a unique band.

Tue, Feb 5th, Oxford Art Factory
