Letter to the Editor

I would like to set the record straight about some of the inaccurate claims in your recent article “TAFE students learn about privatisation” (1 July) as neither Navitas nor Mission Australia were asked for comment.

ACL, the Navitas subsidiary which was awarded a number of LLNP contracts by DEEWR, has a long history of successfully delivering high-quality English courses to domestic and international students.

ACL is the largest provider of English language education and settlement services in Australia and since 1987 has delivered English language training to hundreds of thousands of students who have gained the language skills to undertake further education, enter the workforce or actively participate in their communities.

Our staff are highly qualified and experienced specialist language teachers, many with 20 to 30 years experience in the profession. All our teachers in the LLNP meet the high qualification standards required by DEEWR to work in the program.

ACL has worked with Mission Australia to improve people’s lives through education since 1995 and we look forward to an expanded partnership in the LLNP drawing on the skills and expertise of both organisations.
