Letter to the Editor: City News, you cunning old fox
I agree with Garry Wotherspoon’s letter (City News, 11th November) regarding unethical journalism. I have started to notice similarities between City News and the Fox News network in the US. Both claiming to be fair and balanced but in reality seemingly pushing a one-sided agenda.
When discussing licensed premises and late night trading, Michael Gormly talks about the dangers of becoming stuck in a mindset. Yet his constant focus on deregulation and his obvious disdain for Council and anyone with a difference of opinion suggests he is stuck in a mindset of his own.
I enjoy reading a less glossy, alternative point of view. This is where City News comes in handy. But please drop the disrespectful and antagonistic tone. And please return to professional journalism: present the facts from both sides in an unemotional way and don’t tell people how they should feel. Let them make up their own mind.
