LARS AND THE REAL GIRL
This film has the potential to be a cringe-fest, but there is more to it than meets the eye. When social introvert Lars (Ryan Gosling) orders a life-size anatomically-correct sex doll and starts treating it like a real person, his family think he’s losing his mind. But the psychologist insists that they play along with his delusion, and soon their whole community is along for the ride. ‘Bianca’ joins the school P&C, gets her hair done in the salon, volunteers at the hospital and goes to church. But now there’s a real woman interested in Lars, and he doesn’t want to break Bianca’s heart. A quirky, funny, and heart-warming story from the writer of Six Feet Under. Well worth seeing.
