Knocked down by a taxi

A 70-year-old woman was hit by a taxi on Darlinghurst Road outside St John’s Church on Saturday at 1pm. The taxi had entered the road from the church grounds and hit the pedestrian while turning right into the one-way street. She had been crossing the road with a friend. Passersby clicked into action, calling an ambulance, diverting traffic down nearby Tewkesbury Avenue and attending to the victim, who was conscious and thought her shoulder had been broken. Kings Cross Police said she had been taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries”.
