KING CANNONS

KING CANNONS

The Brightest Light is the debut album of Kiwi-born, Aussie-based band, King Cannons. It is a ‘soul-n-roll’ album that is all about rising above, never giving up, and not letting your current circumstances affect your future. There’s something to their sound that both reminds of rock-n-roll days gone by and still speaks to us today.

These blue-collar boys believe in real, honest, and authentic music. They take influence from every genre and will name drop musicians such as Johnny Cash, Otis Redding, Bruce Springsteen, Jurassic 5, and Wu-Tang. They made their way from street corners and seedy pubs, being electrocuted and crammed on a small stage, and now they’re looking towards the bigger and the better. They aren’t in the industry for the money (frontman Luke Yeoward has a day job); they’re in it for the love of music.

The album is personal, the lyrics are stories of their own experiences, and the music will only be amplified by a live performance. While listening to the album at home it’s hard not to want it to be played on a stage as you fight for space in the screaming crowd. Live is what they do best and what they love most. The feedback from the audience, meeting new people, and touring with good people is what puts the ‘pep in their step’, according to Luke.
