Canberra folk-country group Julia and The Deep Sea Sirens present their second album Family Pets and it’s a very precisely crafted collection of moody and earthy soundscapes arranged around the delightful vocal performances of front-woman and songwriter Julia Johnson. The instrumental accompaniment follows Johnson’s vocal impeccably and rises and falls as she stirringly sings of love, dreams and other personal stories; themes that the songwriter approaches in a fresh and innovative way.
