Jerome Fandor

Jerome Fandor is a Soul/RnB singer-songwriter who re-imagines classic soul music through the prism of modern hip-hop and electronica. After working with artists such as Good Buddha, Papertoy and Mailer Daemon, 2014 saw the release of the Sydneysider’s debut EP, Utopia. 2015 will see Jerome Fandor hit the road with an eight piece live band starting with the Utopia EP launch at LazyBones Lounge.

Utopia is short and filled with quiet yearning. It is five tracks of a similar mode, a little bit crooning and a little bit ambient. The combination is sandwiched into a constant beat and the effect is pleasant and a little monotonous. The voice rises above the slightly jazzy musical backing. The comforting and smooth voice grows on the listener, its unchanging regularity could blend nicely into the background. The music culminates in the title track, slowing and twinkling passed the ears and into the mind and the undercurrents of the soul.
