JAZZGROOVE FUNDRAISER

If you’d thought the Sydney jazz scene to be a dying breed, think again. The Jazzgroove Festival, scheduled for mid-January 2010 with the likes of James Muller, Elana Stone, Brian Campeau, Tina Harrod and the Alcohotlicks on the line-up, is living, breathing proof otherwise. Jazzgroove is warming up for its summer event by hosting a fundraiser on Nov 10 with the guys from Glitch Jukebox serving up some musical mashup mayhem, plus Twentieth Century Dog. And if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, there’s sure to be another date in the calendar worth getting jazzed up about: Nov 17 is Ryan/Edie/Hunter/Tinkler, Nov 24 is Zoe & The Buttercups, Dec 1 Judy Bailey’s Jazz Connection, Dec 8 Fugawe Jam Session: Matt McMahon Trio, The Dilworths album launch on Dec 9 and Jazzgroove Christmas Party on Dec 15. As Dr. Frankenstein said, “It’s alivvvvve!”
