JAMES CARTER – AFTER ALL

Trained in traditional jazz and experienced in improvised music, the James Carter quartet release After All, is a rich nine-track album full of smooth offerings. Primarily composed by and featuring the man himself on alto saxophone, as well as Daniel Sheehan on piano, Christian Meyer on guitar and Ben Christensen on double bass, the album is noticeably missing a drummer but that is something that lends the music a much simpler and classical sound, reminiscent of some funky dive on a New York City backstreet. Overall a chilled album full of relaxed jazz ditties.
