I AM ELEVEN

I AM ELEVEN

In this documentary Australian filmmaker Genevieve Bailey gives a rare insight into a unique stage of humanity as she travels the world documenting the lives of a collection of eleven year olds. Issues such as love, war, happiness, and the future are powerfully discussed as each child gives us a glimpse into their inner thoughts, concerns and dreams. For such a young age their knowledge and wisdom combined with their mature ability to convey thoughts and feelings is utterly astounding. They completely absorb the audience through their innocence and beauty leaving us wondering where life will take these ‘no longer children, not quite adults’ in the future. I Am Eleven is real, unassuming and positively magical. ****1/2
