If you liked the SBS TV series Housos, you’ll love Housos vs Authority. Following the journey of Shazza, Dazza, Franky and the gang on a road trip to Alice Springs to visit Shazza’s dying mother, the film pokes fun at everyone from police officers and ‘dole bludgers’ to ethnic minorities and upper middle-class Australia. The film starts and ends in Sunnyvale, a fictional suburb of NSW populated by Housing Commission homes and an air of desperation.
That Housos vs Authority is politically incorrect is an understatement. It won’t be for everyone, but if you want to witness a slice of bogan Australian life, you won’t be disappointed. **
