HANNA

HANNA

Hanna is unlike most action movies you will see this year. Part coming of age tale, part revenge thriller; this tale of a teenage assassin re-entering the world after a life of seclusion actually exudes a surprisingly indie, art-house vibe. Joe Wright’s film isn’t so much about the action, as much as it is about the journey Hanna undertakes to understand her place amongst our foreign world. That said, the action is still very much accounted for. Wright’s direction is refreshingly restrained, refraining from overly staged and edited set ups; all backed by an energetic score from the Chemical Brothers. By the time the credits roll, what you’re left with might not be what you were expecting, but that’s certainly not a bad thing.
