GREAT HERITAGE CONCERT

GREAT HERITAGE CONCERT

In a rare opportunity to soak up both the beauty of one of Australia’s finest Synagogues as well as the world’s most moving Jewish-inspired melodies, the time has rolled around once again for this year’s Great Heritage Concert. On its 134th anniversary the Concert welcomes international soloist Kim Walker, who you may recognise from her work as Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium.  Her way with the bassoon, a singular baritone instrument in the woodwind family, is something to be beheld. The evening’s repertoire will range from Bernstein to Mendelssohn, with a worthy stopover at Hummel’s Grand Bassoon Concerto in F – all in all, an evening to remember. (AB)
