Graffito of the week

This eponymous footpath piece spotted in East Sydney is a classic example of negative space, both physically and in its meaning. Like the cup which is defined by the emptiness it contains, these letters are defined by the absence of concrete, representing the intersection of something and nothing, a mystery with its roots in the question: ‘What existed before the Big Bang?’. Or have I been reading too many art gallery spiels?  MG
