GIG: PETER URQUHART
Peter Urquhart has gone from the heights of musical training – the Conservatorium – to the grimy underbelly of Sydney’s bohemian culture – Kings Cross. Both experiences have contributed to his musical career, one he says is invigorated water, air and earth as much as inner-city living. Past collaborations include with Lior, Nina Hagen, Kate Plummer, Loka Nunda and Grace Bawdens – for whom he arranged the score for her album, dipping into styles as varied as opera and pop. In his debut release, The Inspired Fellowship, Urquhart employs his violin to weave through these various complex connections of friendship, urban-rural, inspiration and conversation. You can catch him show off his stuff at one of Sydney’s loveliest venues, St John’s Anglican Church, Saturday 26th March, supported by ensemble.
