GIG: BLACK ROSE

GIG: BLACK ROSE

“Black Rose? It stands for our rock personality…dark, prickly, and beautiful…that and it was the worst name we could think of”. Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross admits that his band is one of the more tacky groups out there, but he fails to mention that they’re also one of the most shamelessly fun acts too. “Look, I enjoy comedy, and I enjoy music, and I just want to combine them and put on a great show,” says Rosso. “We’re going to be like ABBA…except without the chicks…and with half the melody…But, with twice the Rock”. And with their gig at the Oxford Arts Factory looming, Rosso promises just that: an honest night out, filled with much thrusting, grinding and flying tambourines, all played out to one mother of a rock and roll score. Black Rose is slipping into their lycra, straightening their mullets, and they’re coming for you Sydney – codpieces and all.
