Get rid of nasty cupboard chemicals

City of Sydney residents are being encouraged to clean out their cupboards for the launch of the City of Sydney’s first free Household Chemical CleanOut Collection on Saturday 11 July.

City of Sydney residents can bring old, unwanted household hazardous waste including cleaning products, paints, pesticides and poisons to a Council collection point.

The waste will be responsibly recycled or disposed of. Household chemicals accepted on the day are: cleaning products & solvents; paints & thinners; pesticides & herbicides; poisons; aerosols; pool chemicals; motor oils, fuels & fluids; acids and alkalis; batteries; gas bottles; and fluorescent tubes & globes.

Take your items to Old South Sydney Hospital Carpark (northern end), 3 Joynton Avenue, Zetland, Entry through Portman Street and exit through Joynton Avenue
Between 9am and 3.30pm.

The collection is only available to City of Sydney residents – no commercial quantities will be collected.
