GENEVIEVE CHADWICK – RIDING THE WIND FORGETTING TIME

Passion, high energy, roots, rock and blues – these are a few of my favourite things on Riding The Wind Forgetting Time. Genevieve Chadwick plays acoustic and electric guitar, but it’s her vocals that have the strongest impact. It’s a husky voice that makes you stop and pay attention. “I got what you want. I got what you need. You can’t pin me down cause I’m too free,” she sings in a way which say not to give her no crap. Although, she’s free to judge others too, “you’re a knocked up runaway, tell me what would God say? Are you forgiven?” She’s a talented songwriter who has written strong melodies and deep, heartfelt lyrics about love and loss. She looks like a grungy Joss Stone and sounds like a nasal Melissa Etheridge or a modern-day Janis Joplin. Listen to this when you want to be nostalgic about your past but empowered about your future.
