Free family open day at Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre

Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre will open its doors this Sunday for a free family open day.

According to YMCA statistics, family time is down 14 per cent and the pressure on working families is ever increasing.

“The  YMCA has, and always will be committed to connecting communities and creating healthier, happier lives,” said Kristy Sharpe, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre manager. “As partners of the City of Sydney, the YMCA at the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre is inviting people of all ages to spend the day at the Centre and enjoying quality time together.”

Ms Sharpe said people can sign up to become members for as little as one dollar and there will also be a chance to win a mountain bike.

The day will include free group fitness classes, personal training sessions, face painting for kids, free 15 minute swimming assessments, a giant pool swing/inflatable and a fundraising BBQ and much more.

For the first time the Centre will also be hosting a Fitness Expo with local health professionals available for support and advice.

Registration for the event is not required. For more information visit: www.itac.org.au
