Former KIIS Star Kyle Sandilands Opens Up About Advising One Nation. The Party Denies It.
Kyle Sandilands, former KIIS co-star of The Kyle and Jackie O Show, has revealed recent collaboration efforts with One Nation. In an “emergency” interview with the Game Changers Radio podcast on Friday, the recently terminated media personality described working directly with Pauline Hanson on the party’s campaign strategy.
“I was with Pauline Hanson for a couple of days,” Sandilands said, “just spending some time with her camp since all this saga just working on getting their messaging across.”
Sandilands went on to dub Hanson “one of [his] favourite people”, favour that extended to personally introducing the One Nation leader to his “upper society” friends. Analysts point out this is yet another instance of Hanson, a supposed representative of working-class Australians, finding herself in the company of elites.
This comes after Sandilands, already a multi-millionaire, was paid “a miserable” $12 million in cash in mid-June. The settlement marks the resolution of Sandiland’s wrongful termination lawsuit against ARN Media, following his sacking after an on-air dispute with his co-star Jacqueline “Jackie O” Henderson in February.
One Nation Denies Kyle Sandilands Is Working With The Party
Despite Sandilands heaping praise on his “not not friend” Pauline Hanson, One Nation chief of staff James Ashby refuted Sandilands claims.
“Not at all,” Ashby told the Sydney Morning Herald, when asked if Sandilands had worked for the party. “I know Pauline reached out [to Sandilands] when shit hit the fan. She’s got a lot of time for him and wanted to make sure he was fine,” Ashby said.
While Ashby denied any official ties between Sandilands and One Nation, he had no shortage of praise for the multimillionaire.
“I think he’s a legend,” Ashby said, before claiming Sandilands “deserves to be back on air”.
“I have no doubt Pauline will go on his show,” Ashby concluded, “the boss won’t shy away from that.”
