Food News

With October positively rammed with foodie events, I was recently reminded by Sydney Cove Oyster Bar, that all good eating doesn’t have to be high-brow. They’re throwing open their arms and welcoming everyone (including any oyster-scarfing children you might happen to have) to a Harbourside BBQ every Saturday in October (12th, 19th and 26th). There’s something mighty satisfying about sharing platters of freshly shucked bivalves, octopus salad, BBQ king prawns and char-grilled lamb skewers as you sit back and admire our busy harbour, especially while Chef Rhys Ward (a true-blue Bondi lifesaver) keeps those tantalising BBQ aromas flowing. Lunch will set you back $55/head (and even includes ice creams).

While we’re talking interesting barbecues, you can also check out BBQ Pasifika who are putting on a hangi, umu, lovo and spit roast out at Casula Powerhouse on Saturday 19th October at 12pm. Entry is free (but you pay for what you eat).
