There’s something about a husband and wife team (gay couples not withstanding) that makes a restaurant sing, especially if one partner is in the kitchen and the other is running the floor. Restaurant Arras, who produced my favourite dessert so far this year called Oops I Spilled My… (Negroni), is saying farewell to the knowledgeable Alon Sharman, and pulling co-owner Lovaine Humphrey out of the kitchen and onto the floor. I’m hoping this will be the final piece in the puzzle that starts to draw the crowds that the playful fine dining dishes of Adam Humphrey deserves to attract.
