FOLK UKE – FOLK UKE

FOLK UKE – FOLK UKE

It is hard to know exactly where to put Folk Ute. Folk Uke the album contains a dual female vocal, dual ukele attack; and as the name suggest both these girls like to place their tongues firmly in their cheeks. Tracks such as Shit Makes the Flowers Grow, In Case We Die or the touching ditty Knock Me Up – “Knock me up if you love / Knock me up if  you don’t / If you ever wanted / An unwanted baby / Knock me up / Honey, knock me up” – gives you a fair idea of the sense of folk fun that this pair share. So who are these two lassies? They be Cathy Guthrie and Amy Nelson – and that’s right their dads Arlo and Willie provide a helping hand here. Never has musical pedigre taken such a long handle to their families names as Cathy and Amy, weather the joke sustains could be debated, but loves of the mighty uke will flock to see them live this week.
